National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said the party remains open to discussions with other political parties, individuals, or coalitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the NNPP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, the former Kano State Governor stressed that while the party is willing to engage, it is not in a hurry to enter into any alliance.
“We are ready to talk to anybody who wants us to work together for 2027, but this party is not my party, not the chairman’s party, and not the property of a few individuals. It is a party for Nigerians,” he said.
Kwankwaso dismissed recent speculations about ongoing negotiations, insisting that no agreement has been reached with any political group. He assured that any future discussions would be collective, involving both party leaders and members.
“If there is any negotiation, it will not be for just a few people. It will be for the entire NNPP family,” he stated.
The NEC meeting also dissolved executives in some states, appointing interim leaders pending the party’s convention to elect substantive officers.
Kwankwaso emphasized that the NNPP is focused on offering Nigerians credible leadership and a genuine alternative in 2027.
“We are not in a hurry. We believe we have something meaningful to offer at the highest level of leadership in this country. We want to do it the right way,” he added.
While acknowledging that some members may choose to leave, Kwankwaso maintained that the NNPP remains open and welcoming to all Nigerians willing to join its vision.
