On Friday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar met with former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Aregbesola, a former close ally of President Bola Tinubu, received the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his apartment in Osun State.
Atiku posted a video of the meeting on his X page.
“Breakfast time at the residence of the former Governor of Osun State, Engr Rauf Aregbesola,” Atiku wrote in the post.
The visit came just hours ahead of the coronation of the 49th Owa Obokun and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, in Ilesa.
Earlier, the Osun State High Court sitting in Ilesa, on Thursday, refused to stop the coronation.

Though it is unclear why Atiku visited Aregbesola, it may not be unconnected with his plans to contest the 2027 presidential election, where President Tinubu is seeking re-election for another term in office.
Aregbesola has been a long-standing ally of Tinubu, but their relationship went sour during the build-up to the 2023 presidential election.
Atiku is spearheading the formation of an opposition coalition aimed at removing Tinubu from power in 2027.
On Tuesday night, the former Vice President met with Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, and Nasir El-Rufai, the ex-Kaduna State governor.
Confirming the meeting, El-Rufai said serious issues were discussed, adding that the coalition will retire Tinubu to Lagos in 2027.
