Nigeria’s Flying Eagles secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations after a 2-2 draw with Kenya on Wednesday in Cairo, marking their 100th game in the competition.
The seven-time champions twice came from behind, showing grit after conceding early to a Kevin Injehu penalty.
Kparobo Arierhi quickly equalised, and after Kenya regained the lead through William Gitama in the second half, Daniel Bameyi levelled again from the spot.
Despite dominating late on, Nigeria couldn’t find a winner but held on to finish second in Group B with five points behind Morocco.
The result keeps their unbeaten run intact and extends their streak of group-stage progressions to ten in their last twelve AFCON appearances.
However, they remain the group’s lowest scorers with just three goals in three games.
