Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim is determined to navigate the challenges of the Premier League while staying true to his principles.
Speaking to DAZN’s The Premier Pub, Amorim reflected on his journey so far, balancing expectations, and adapting to life in England.
Acknowledging the difficulties, he emphasized his growth as a manager. “It’s been a learning curve—one step forward, two steps back at times,” he admitted. “The pressure here is relentless, but it’s all about preparing for the next game and ensuring the players are ready.”
With a squad designed for a different style of play, injuries, and tight schedules, Amorim highlighted the challenges of implementing his vision.
“There’s no time to train the way we’d like. The focus is on winning, even when adjustments aren’t ideal,” he said.
Despite spending Christmas alone while his family remained in Portugal, Amorim remained optimistic. “It’s part of the job,” he shared. “I’m here to work, and I’ll make up for it later.”
True to his identity, Amorim is committed to leading with authenticity. “I stay true to myself—assertive, simple, and honest. That’s how I coach, and that’s how I’ll continue.”
As he navigates the Premier League’s intensity, Amorim’s approach embodies resilience, learning, and a steadfast belief in his methods.
