Countries across Africa will file out over the weekend starting from November 14 to fight for places in the qualification race for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be held in Morocco.
The different matches will be played between Thursday November 13, 2024 and Tuesday November 19, 2024 across the continent in the last round of matches.
The encounter with Benin Republic is set to take place at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium in Ivory Coast which is Cheetahs’ adopted home ground on Thursday, November 14, starting at 7 PM local time (8 PM Nigeria time). —And a win for the Eagles will confirm a place for them at the 2025 AFCON.
The Super Eagles are leading the group with 10 points, while Benin Republic stays in second position with 6 points. The Cheetahs of Benin will want to do everything possible to win the match in order to keep them in contention for second spot qualifier. The Eagles triumphed over the Cheetahs in September with a resounding 3 – 0 thrashing at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, Uyo.
Nigeria’s final qualifying match for the 2025 AFCON will be against Rwanda which is scheduled for November 18 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
