Air Peace has taken delivery of another Boeing 777 aircraft, reinforcing its capacity to drive Nigeria’s presence on the global aviation map.

The wide-body Boeing 777-200 ER, registered 5N-CEG was received over the weekend in Lagos.

The aircraft, which arrived from Teruel, Spain, was ushered into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport with a traditional water salute and a lively reception led by the airline’s founder and Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, alongside top executives including Executive Director, Obinna Onyema, and Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide.

With a capacity of 312 passengers, 26 in Business Class and 286 in Economy, the jet is equipped with modern amenities that enhance passenger comfort.

Business Class travellers will enjoy private seating with advanced in-flight features, while Economy customers benefit from more legroom and upgraded service standards.

Dr. Onyema described the acquisition as a “strategic milestone,” signalling Air Peace’s determination to expand aggressively into long-haul markets.

He disclosed that the new aircraft will soon be deployed for direct flights from Abuja to London Heathrow and Gatwick, with operations scheduled to begin within the next two months.

He said further expansion plans include services to major European cities, South America, particularly São Paulo, Brazil and the Caribbean.

“These routes will complement Air Peace’s pioneering operations to Antigua and Barbuda, as well as St. Kitts and Nevis,” he said.

The chairman reiterated the airline’s mission of providing Nigerians with affordable international travel options while reducing the heavy dependence on foreign carriers.

He also urged the development of a hub system in Nigeria to strengthen connectivity across the continent and beyond.

Dr. Onyema expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for creating policies supportive of indigenous carriers, and to Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo for championing reforms that enable Nigerian airlines to compete globally.
