Paris Saint-Germain have signed Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade on a free transfer, with the forward agreeing a deal until June 2027.

The 25-year-old arrives after nearly five years at Atletico Madrid, where she won the Copa de la Reina and the Supercopa de España.

She becomes the sixth Nigerian to represent PSG, joining the likes of Jay-Jay Okocha, Godwin Okpara, Bartholomew Ogbeche who all represented the men’s team while Nicole Payne and current teammate Jennifer Echegini .

Ajibade began her career at Robo Queens in Lagos before moving to Avaldsnes in Norway in 2018. She switched to Spain in 2020, scoring crucial goals and showcasing her versatility across the forward line for Atletico.

On the international stage, she has 20 goals in 38 senior appearances for Nigeria and was top scorer at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Last month, she led the Super Falcons to their record 10th continental title, earning Player of the Tournament.

Her arrival adds quality and experience to a PSG Féminines side intent on challenging Lyon for domestic dominance while pushing for European honours.
