Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will meet in the dream ATP Finals showdown after both eased through their semi-finals in Turin on Saturday.
Alcaraz, locked in as the year-end world number one, swept aside Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-2, 6-4 to reach his 11th final of the year.
The Spaniard holds a 10-5 head-to-head lead over Sinner and has beaten him in four of five meetings this season, including in the US Open and Roland Garros finals.
Sinner earlier defeated Alex de Minaur 7-5, 6-2, booking a title match that many hoped for after the pair split this year’s four Grand Slams.
The Italian famously beat Alcaraz to win Wimbledon, adding more intrigue to Sunday’s contest.
Alcaraz said their clashes always “raise the level to the top” and joked he expects at least “three or four” supporters in a crowd that will heavily back Sinner.
Auger-Aliassime, strong indoors, could not disrupt Alcaraz, who controlled the match from the early stages.
