World number one Carlos Alcaraz rallied from a set and a break down to beat Arthur
Rinderknech 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-2 in the third round at the Indian Wells Masters on Monday.
The Spaniard, who is unbeaten in 2026, recovered after losing a tight first set
tiebreak and secured the victory with decisive breaks in the second and third sets.
Alcaraz will face 13th-seeded Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals after the Norwegian
overcame Valentin Vacherot 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
With the win, Alcaraz extends his perfect 14-0 start to the season, following his
Australian Open and Qatar Open triumphs.
Rinderknech leaves Indian Wells without a win, having reached the third round via a
first-round bye and walkover.
