Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena has emerged as the sole candidate to host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, UEFA confirmed on Friday.
Meanwhile, Wembley Stadium in London and the soon-to-be-completed Camp Nou in Barcelona will compete to stage the 2029 showpiece.
Munich was the only city to submit a bid for 2028, setting the stage for the German venue to welcome Europe’s biggest club match for the sixth time.
The Allianz Arena previously hosted finals in 2012 and 2025, while Munich’s Olympic Stadium staged the event in 1979, 1993, and 1997.
UEFA also confirmed that this season’s final will take place at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, with Madrid’s Metropolitano set to host in 2027.
The governing body will make its final decision between Wembley and Barcelona for the 2029 edition in September 2026.
The selection underscores UEFA’s preference for iconic venues with modern infrastructure and rich football heritage, ensuring the Champions League final continues to rotate among Europe’s most storied football cities.
