Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim described his team’s 4–2 triumph over Brighton as a “more complete performance” than their famous victory at Anfield last week, as the Red Devils made it three straight Premier League wins for the first time in over a year.
Bryan Mbeumo struck twice, while Matheus Cunha and Casemiro also found the net to give United a commanding lead at Old Trafford.
Despite a late Brighton rally, Amorim’s men held firm to secure another vital three points that lifted them to fourth in the table.
“The players understood really well what to do in every moment,” Amorim said after the match. “We had to suffer a bit at the end, but it wouldn’t be United without that. This win feels more complete than Liverpool, today we did everything.”
The Portuguese manager reserved praise for Cunha, who opened his United account, and Mbeumo, whose tireless performance impressed the home crowd.
“Cunha feels more confident when the game is harder, his defensive work was excellent,” Amorim said. “And Mbeumo is a machine, brilliant in transitions and dangerous one-on-one.”
The result marked further progress for Amorim’s revitalised United, who look to have rediscovered their rhythm and resilience under the Portuguese coach.
