Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear that his team must aim for silverware after securing their place in the Europa League last 16 with a 2-0 win over Steaua Bucharest.
Despite a rocky start that saw him become the first United manager since 1932 to lose five of his first 10 games, Amorim is beginning to find his footing.
Speaking after the victory, he emphasized the need to fight for trophies, stating, “At this stage, anything is possible. When you manage Manchester United, you must always aim to win.”
United’s direct qualification to the last 16 spares them from a playoff round, giving Amorim valuable time to fine-tune his tactics.
He highlighted the importance of this break, saying, “It allows us to train, build connections, and properly prepare for each challenge ahead.”
With momentum on their side, United will now shift their focus to maintaining form as they continue their European journey.
