Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insists his team remains in control of the LaLiga title race despite a surprising 1-0 defeat to Espanyol on Saturday.
Los Blancos still lead the table with 49 points, just one ahead of Atletico Madrid, who they face next weekend.
“We had chances but couldn’t capitalize. Despite the loss, we are still in the fight,” Ancelotti said post-match.
He also criticized the referee’s decision not to send off Espanyol’s Carlos Romero for a reckless tackle on Kylian Mbappe.
Meanwhile, defender Antonio Rudiger suffered a muscle injury, with Ancelotti stating it’s too early to determine the severity.
