Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has played down concerns that Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Antonio Rüdiger, and Dani Ceballos could be suspended for their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Arsenal on April 8.

UEFA has launched an investigation into the quartet’s celebrations following Real Madrid’s dramatic penalty-shootout victory over Atlético Madrid in the last-16 tie.

Reports suggest disciplinary action could be taken, but Ancelotti remains confident his players will be cleared.

“We are confident in UEFA’s verdict. Our players didn’t do anything wrong; they were just celebrating,” Ancelotti told reporters on Friday.

Rüdiger allegedly made a throat-slitting gesture towards Atlético fans, while Mbappé appeared to make an obscene gesture.

However, no formal sanctions have been announced, with UEFA stating that further updates will be provided in due course.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid shift their focus back to La Liga, where they face Leganés this weekend.

Ancelotti confirmed Thibaut Courtois will miss the match due to a minor injury, but Vinícius is available despite his late return from international duty.

“We’re in a crucial part of the season, and every game matters. La Liga isn’t over yet—we still have a Clásico to play and many matches ahead,” Ancelotti added.

Madrid currently trail Barcelona by three points but remain in contention for multiple trophies as the season enters its decisive phase.
