ANTONELLI BECOMES YOUNGEST F1 POLESITTER IN CHINA.
Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli became Formula 1’s youngest polesitter at 19 years, 6
months, and 18 days old after setting the fastest time in qualifying for the Chinese
Grand Prix, with teammate George Russell locking out the front row despite a Q3

Russell encountered a gearbox problem that forced him to limp back to the pits,
leaving Antonelli to set a 1:32.064 benchmark.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc claimed the second row for Ferrari, while
McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris filled row three.
Pierre Gasly outqualified the Red Bulls, with Max Verstappen eighth and Isack
Hadjar ninth, and Haas’ Oliver Bearman completing the top 10.
Late incidents, including a spin by Gabriel Bortoleto, affected several drivers,
attempts to improve their positions, while Nico Hulkenberg and Franco Colapinto
narrowly missed Q2.
