The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations by former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, that President Bola Tinubu is scheming to weaken opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the APC and President Tinubu are fully focused on delivering good governance, not meddling in the affairs of what he described as “fractured opposition parties.”

Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, had in a television interview accused the ruling party of sponsoring moves to destabilize opposition ranks.

He also vowed to work with other leaders to resist the alleged plot.

Reacting, Morka accused Tambuwal and other opposition figures of engaging in political blackmail without evidence, insisting they were more concerned about power struggles than the needs of Nigerians.

“With nothing meaningful to offer Nigerians, these opposition elements have become political prophets, spinning baseless predictions about 2027, which only foreshadow the defeat that awaits them at the polls,” Morka said.

He further alleged that leaders such as Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi have presided over rudderless parties weakened by internal crises, making them unfit to challenge the APC.
