Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has likened the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government to a cancer.

He urged the opposition coalition supported by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to take a more measured approach and concentrate on developing effective strategies to eradicate what he termed the APC “cancer” ahead of the 2027 elections.

The former governor, who spoke while appearing on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday, Lamido said the ADC is full of sprinters.

“Let them look inward and keep connecting with people quietly so that by the time they come out in full force the energy will be there.

“I think there is too much rushing, there are too many sprinters there, they should slow down and look at issues in a deeper way, so that they will be able to remove this cancer called APC,” he said.

Lamido stressed that he can’t leave a big party for a small one, hence his decision to remain in the PDP.

The ADC is currently constituted by a lot of high ranking politicians from across the political divides in the country.

Despite its latest leadership crisis, the ADC has vowed to ensure that President Bola Tinubu-led APC does not return to power in 2027.
