Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has downplayed any added pressure on his side to perform in the Champions League amid their struggles in the Premier League.

Speaking ahead of their last-16 second-leg clash against PSV Eindhoven, Arteta emphasized that the team remains focused and motivated in Europe.

The Gunners hold a commanding 7-1 aggregate lead after their dominant first-leg victory, all but securing a spot in the quarter-finals.

However, their domestic form has been inconsistent, with a three-game winless run leaving them 15 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Additionally, early exits from both the FA Cup and League Cup have raised concerns about their chances of securing silverware this season.

Despite this, Arteta insisted that the Champions League is not their only hope for a trophy. “We have a lot of enthusiasm and energy for this competition.

Winning tomorrow puts us in a great position, but it’s not about pressure—it’s about our ambition and what we want to achieve,” he said.

Looking ahead, Arsenal could face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals, but Arteta remains focused on the task at hand.

He also hinted at the possibility of giving younger players a chance against PSV, acknowledging their contributions to the squad.

With their European campaign in full swing, Arsenal will aim to maintain their momentum and push for success on all fronts.
