Aryna Sabalenka has been named the WTA Player of the Year for the first time, capping off a remarkable 2024 season.
The 26-year-old Belarusian clinched two Grand Slam titles defending her Australian Open crown and winning the US Open and ended the year as the world No. 1.
In addition to her major victories, Sabalenka secured titles in Cincinnati and Wuhan, making it a trophy-laden year with four championships overall.
Other WTA award winners included Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini as Doubles Team of the Year, while rising American star Emma Navarro earned the Most Improved Player honor after breaking into the top 10.
New Zealand’s Lulu Sun was named Newcomer of the Year following a stunning Wimbledon quarter-final run as a qualifier.
Spain’s Paula Badosa claimed the Comeback Player of the Year award after returning from injury to win in Washington and finish the year ranked No. 12.
