Ashley Young made history on Wednesday night, setting a new Premier League record during Everton’s 4-0 win over Wolves.

The veteran full-back scored a brilliant free-kick, marking his 50th top-flight goal while also becoming the oldest player to ever score a direct free-kick in the competition at 39 years and 149 days.
This achievement breaks a record that had stood for 24 years, previously held by Stuart Pearce.
In addition, Young now ranks as the fourth oldest scorer in Premier League history, surpassing Ryan Giggs and now behind Thiago Silva, Dean Windass and Teddy Sheringham in the all-time list..
His first league goal for Everton added to a dominant first half, where Orel Mangala also found the net along with a brace of own goals by Craig Dawson.
The victory saw Everton move five points clear of relegation, while Wolves slipped closer to the drop zone.
