Aston Villa are weighing up a potential deal for Manchester United’s out-of-favour winger Jadon Sancho, who could yet be on the move before the transfer window closes.

The 25-year-old rejected a switch to Roma earlier this summer, with Juventus also showing interest, but talks with neither club progressed.

Sancho has spent the past 18 months on loan with Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, though neither opted to make his stay permanent.

Chelsea, in fact, paid a £5m penalty to United after pulling out of an obligation to sign the England international.

Signed for £73m in 2021, Sancho has not featured for United since August 2024 in the Community Shield, and his future at Old Trafford looks increasingly uncertain.

Any discussions over a move to Villa Park are separate from United’s pursuit of Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Sources at Old Trafford maintain that only one new goalkeeper will arrive, with Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens also under consideration.
