Atalanta stormed into the Italian Cup quarter-finals with a commanding 6-1 victory over Serie B side Cesena in Bergamo.

The Serie A leaders were unstoppable, racing to a 3-0 lead within 30 minutes. Davide Zappacosta opened the scoring early, followed by braces from Charles De Ketelaere and Lazar Samardzic.

Marco Brescianini added a fifth before Cesena’s Joseph Ceesay grabbed a late consolation goal.

Atalanta will face Bologna in the last eight, while Cesena, focused on promotion, visit Juve Stabia on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Claudio Ranieri’s Roma cruised past Sampdoria 4-1, setting up a clash with AC Milan.

Artem Dovbyk’s double and strikes from Tommaso Baldanzi and Eldor Shomurodov ensured a convincing win for Roma, who now turn their attention to Parma in Serie A action.
