Barcelona tightened their grip on top spot with a 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou, ending the visitors’ 13-match unbeaten league run and opening a four-point gap overnight.

Atletico struck first through Alex Baena after a clever run and cool finish, but Barcelona responded quickly as Raphinha rounded Jan Oblak to level.

Robert Lewandowski then missed a penalty before Oblak denied him again with a superb save.

Barça controlled the second half and eventually broke Atletico’s resistance when Dani Olmo slipped in a neat finish before going off injured.

Ferran Torres sealed the victory deep into stoppage time after Thiago Almada had missed a golden chance at the other end.

Barcelona have now lost just one of the last 20 LaLiga home encounters against Atletico, tightening their grip on the title race.
