Barcelona earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League, securing their first-ever victory against the Bundesliga side and extending Frankfurt’s winless run to four matches.
Frankfurt struck first after 21 minutes, when Ansgar Knauff finished confidently from Nathaniel Brown’s clever pass.
Barça pushed throughout the half but lacked precision in the final third, with the visitors defending compactly and threatening on the break.
The second half belonged to the hosts. Marcus Rashford’s superb cross set up Jules Kounde for the equaliser, and the French defender headed in again just two minutes later to complete the turnaround.
Barcelona controlled the closing stages, limiting Frankfurt to hopeful long balls as they saw out the result.
