Bayelsa Queens were crowned champions of the 2025 Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership after a dominant 4–1 win over Naija Ratels in their final Super Six match on Saturday in Ikenne.

Vera Samuel was the star, netting a hat-trick to lead the Prosperity Girls to their sixth league title and first since 2022.

Bayelsa finished with 10 points, edging Nasarawa Amazons, who were held to a goalless draw by Edo Queens and ended second on nine.

Samuel opened the scoring in the 27th minute before Ratels equalised through Itunu Adeshina. Bayelsa responded after the break with goals from Cynthia Mega and two more from Samuel to seal the win.

Rivers Angels beat Remo Stars Ladies 2–1 in the other match, but finished fourth behind Edo Queens on goal difference, as both sides ended with seven points.

Remo’s Bolaji Olamide claimed the Golden Boot with 15 goals, while Nasarawa’s Jenat Akekeromowei was named MVP of the Super Six after scoring four goals in the playoffs and 13 overall.
