Bayern Munich Fight Back to Beat Sporting CP

BAYERNBAYERN

Bayern Munich overturned a second-half scare to defeat Sporting CP 3-1 at the Allianz Arena, stretching their unbeaten home run at this stage of the UEFA Champions League to 35 matches.

Sporting stunned the crowd when Joshua Kimmich diverted a cross into his own net after Joao Simoes’ burst down the right.

But Bayern quickly regained control, and Serge Gnabry levelled from a Michael Olise corner before Lennart Karl made history once again.

The 17-year-old showed superb composure to put Bayern ahead, becoming the youngest player ever to score in three straight UCL games.

Jonathan Tah then sealed the victory late on, completing a strong response from Bayern after falling behind.

The win lifts Bayern alongside Arsenal at the top of the league phase, while Sporting suffer their first defeat in 13 matches.
