BIG-GAME LOOKMAN READY FOR BARCA TRILOGY.

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman heads into Atlético Madrid’s defining run
against Barcelona in top form, with five goals and four assists in 14 appearances
across all competitions.
The first meeting comes today (Saturday) in La Liga, kicking off at 8 pm WAT at the
Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid.
The rivals will then meet again in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, with
the first leg on April 8 at Camp Nou, before the decisive second leg on April 14 at the
Metropolitano, both kicking off at 8 pm WAT.
Lookman’s growing reputation as a big-game player adds extra intrigue. The
Nigerian has already scored against both Real Madrid and Barcelona this year,
including a standout display in Atlético’s dominant 4-0 Copa del Rey semi-final first-
leg win over the Catalans.
That tie ultimately went Atlético’s way despite a 3-0 second-leg defeat, sealing a 4-3
aggregate victory, while Barcelona also claimed a 3-1 La Liga win earlier this
season, underlining how closely matched the sides have been.
Ahead of the trilogy, Lookman struck a calm tone, describing it as “a special game
against another tough opponent,” while insisting Atlético must take it “game by
game.”
He also pointed to his development under Diego Simeone, saying he is “working to
improve” all aspects of his game as he continues to evolve into a more complete
forward.
With three high-stakes clashes in two weeks, Atlético will look to their in-form winger
to once again deliver in the biggest moments.
