Sheffield United stormed into the Championship play-off final with a commanding 6-0 aggregate demolition of Bristol City, sealing their place at Wembley with a 3-0 second-leg win at Bramall Lane.
Already three goals to the good from the first leg, Chris Wilder’s side made the breakthrough just before the break as Kieffer Moore powered in a header from Harrison Burrows’ corner.
Gus Hamer then struck from distance via a deflection, before Callum O’Hare capped the night with a clinical finish to complete the rout.
The result marks the largest margin of victory ever recorded in a Championship play-off semi-final. United will now prepare for a showdown on Saturday, 24 May, against either Sunderland or Coventry City, with a swift Premier League return firmly in their sights.
Third place continues to be a golden ticket, nine of the last ten third-placed sides have now reached the final.
