Napoli missed a golden opportunity to close the gap at the top of Serie A after being held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna, who moved back into the Champions League places with a spirited display on Sunday night.
Frank Anguissa gave Napoli the lead in the 18th minute with a brilliant solo effort, beating his marker and rounding the goalkeeper to slot home.
However, Bologna responded in stunning fashion as Dan Ndoye flicked in a remarkable equaliser off the bar just before the hour mark.
Despite late chances for both sides, including a dramatic save from Bologna’s Ravaglia and a missed sitter by Santiago Castro, neither team could find a winner.
The result leaves Napoli winless in five away games, while Bologna’s European dream remains alive as they leapfrog Juventus into the top four.
