Super Eagle of Nigeria forward Victor Boniface is nearing an agreement to extend his stay at Bayer Leverkusen with a new, lucrative contract.

Since his arrival at the club two years ago, the 23-year-old striker has quickly become a key player, emerging as the team’s top scorer.

Last season, his impressive 21 goals and 10 assists were instrumental in helping Leverkusen secure both the Bundesliga title and the DFB Pokal.

Amid growing rumors of a potential move away, Leverkusen is taking steps to keep their star forward by offering him a new deal, according to reports in Germany.

Although Boniface still has four years left on his current contract, he is currently recovering from an injury picked up during international duty last month.
