Human rights lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi has been brought before an Ekiti State Magistrate Court. He was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, by operatives of the Ekiti State police command and appeared in court at approximately 10:25 AM on Wednesday.
Farotimi faces 16 charges of defamation of character against Aare Afe Babalola, SAN. He is accused of maligning and defaming Babalola’s character in his recently published book, titled “Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.”
