Burkina Faso Snatch Stoppage-Time Win Over Equatorial Guinea

Burkina Faso produced a dramatic late turnaround to beat 10-man Equatorial Guinea 2-1 in their AFCON Group E opener in Casablanca.

Despite enjoying numerical advantage for much of the second half after Basilio Ndong was sent off, Burkina Faso fell behind in the 85th minute when Marvin Anieboh headed in from Carlos Akapo’s corner.

The Burkinabe responded in stoppage time, with Georgi Minoungou rifling home an equaliser before Edmond Tapsoba headed in the winner in the 98th minute, sparking wild celebrations.

The victory extends Burkina Faso’s winning streak to five matches and highlighted their resilience, determination, and composure under pressure to secure a memorable start to their Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
