CAF Announces Nominees for 2024 CAF Awards in Morocco.

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) has released the final shortlist for the various categories in the upcoming 2024 CA awards. The 2024 edition of the CAF Awards is set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco on 16 December 2024. The award ceremony designed to celebrate African football excellence recognizes exceptional performances in both club and national competitions, culminating in the prestigious titles of CAF African Player of the Year in both the men’s and women’s categories

Simon Adingra (Cote d’Ivoire / Brighton & Hove Albion), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea / Borussia Dortmund), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco / Paris Saint-Germain), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria / Atalanta) Ronwen Williams (South Africa / Mamelodi Sundowns) have all been lined up for CAF Awards 2024 Player of the Year Top Prize.

The Nigerians Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali made the list for the CAF player and goal keeper of the year awards. Nigerian Lookman is tipped to win the favourite to win the Men’s Player of The Year Award following his stellar performance during the year. One performance that will still remain in the memories of committee members that will vote is the Europa league final against Bayer Leverkusen where Ademola Lookman netted three goals to win the trophy for his club. The 26-year-old striker has scored 17 goals for his club with 10 assists

The release also include list of nominees for the women’s categories for the #CAFAwards24. Top (10) players have been shortlisted for the coveted CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, ranging from world-class footballers plying their trade both on the continent as well as abroad.

The list of nominess for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year crown that is currently held by Asisat Oshoala, includes Sandrine Niyonkuru (Burundi / FC Masar), Tabitha Chawinga (Malawi / Olympique Lyonnais), Temwa Chawinga (Malawi / Kansas City), Sanaa Mssoudy (Morocco / AS FAR), Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria / Paris FC), Rasheedat Ajibade (Nigeria / Atletico Madrid), Jermaine Seoposenwe (South Africa / Monterrey), Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa / Tigres UANL), Barbara Banda (Zambia / Orlando Pride), Racheal Kundananji (Zambia / Bay FC)
