CAF Rejects New Date for Super Falcons Clash

June 2, 2025

The friendly between Nigeria’s Super Falcons and Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses will now be played on Tuesday, June 3, in Abeokuta, after CAF declined a request to move the match to Monday.

The game, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was shifted by both federations after the first leg was cancelled due to Cameroon’s late arrival in Ikenne.

That match was meant for Saturday, May 31, but travel delays disrupted plans.

CAF’s disapproval of the new Monday date forced a return to the original schedule. The Falcons confirmed the update via X on Sunday.

Cameroon are now training in Ijebu Ode ahead of Tuesday’s fixture at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex.

It will be Nigeria’s first game since losing 1–0 to France last November.

The fixture is part of their WAFCON 2024 build-up. Cameroon, who missed out on qualification, have not beaten Nigeria since 2012 and have failed to score in their last six meetings.
