Cameroon Snatch Late Win Over Super Falcons in Pre-WAFCON Friendly.
The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon claimed a 1-0 win over the Super Falcons
of Nigeria in Yaounde as both nations stepped up preparations for the 202
Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Cameroon women’s national football team left it late to settle the contest, with
Mbomezomo Yvana struck in stoppage time to punish the Nigerian women’s national
football team after a closely fought encounter.
Nigeria, led by Rasheedat Ajibade and featuring debutant goalkeeper Comfort
Erhabor enjoyed bright spells but failed to convert their early dominance.
Head coach Justine Madugu introduced fresh legs in the second half, yet the
breakthrough proved elusive before Cameroon snatched the winner at the death.
Both sides will meet again as they fine-tune plans ahead of the continental
showpiece.
