Nigeria coach Eric Chelle has urged the Super Eagles to shut out external distractions and focus fully on their Africa Cup of Nations campaign following their failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
The Malian tactician spoke ahead of Nigeria’s Group C opener against Tanzania on Tuesday, stressing the need for concentration after the disappointment of last month’s playoff defeat to DR Congo.
“We prefer to stay focused at all times,” Chelle said at a press conference. “I told the players to concentrate on themselves and on our development project. This is the most important thing we have.”
Nigeria will be aiming to channel that focus into a strong start as they begin their AFCON quest in Morocco.
