Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca expressed his deep frustration after his side suffered a dismal 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Friday, failing to register a single shot on target.
Kaoru Mitoma, who also scored the winner in Brighton’s FA Cup triumph over Chelsea last week, struck first before Yankuba Minteh netted twice to complete a commanding victory for the Seagulls.
“Probably since I arrived, that is the worst performance, especially in the moment we are in,” Maresca admitted.
With key attacking players sidelined due to injuries, Chelsea struggled to create chances, leaving the Italian coach searching for solutions.
“This is the worst moment since I arrived, but we are still there and we need to finish in the best way,” he added, as his team looks to bounce back from another disappointing result.
