Chelsea have sanctioned two major attacking departures, with Christopher Nkunku sold to AC Milan and Nicolas Jackson set to join Bayern Munich on loan.

Nkunku, 27, leaves Stamford Bridge after two seasons, completing a £36m switch to Serie A on a five-year deal.

The French forward arrived from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £52m and registered 18 goals and five assists across 62 appearances, helping the Blues win the Club World Cup and Conference League.

Jackson, meanwhile, is on the verge of linking up with Bayern after the clubs agreed terms on a £13m loan deal that includes a £56.2m option to buy.

The 24-year-old striker has already settled on a pre-contract with the Bundesliga champions and will travel to Germany to finalise the move. A sell-on clause is also included in the agreement.

The twin departures boost Chelsea’s transfer balance significantly. Having spent around £277m on new arrivals this summer, the club has now recouped approximately £309m in sales, once add-ons are factored in.

These sales come under the shadow of Uefa sanctions, with Chelsea fined £26.7m and required to maintain a positive balance to register fresh signings for the Champions League.

While the exits of Nkunku and Jackson reshape the Blues’ forward line, they also underline the financial recalibration at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea continue their rebuild under strict European oversight.
