Chelsea kept their Champions League dream alive with a spirited 3-1 win over newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday, but the real test of their credentials is yet to come.

Goals from Enzo Fernandez and a Jarell Quansah own goal gave the Blues an early cushion. Virgil van Dijk pulled one back late, but Cole Palmer sealed the win from the penalty spot with the final kick of the match.

Stamford Bridge erupted in celebration, with manager Enzo Maresca hailing the atmosphere as the best of the season. Yet the Italian was quick to stress the importance of staying focused with three demanding fixtures left.

Liverpool, having already secured the title, rotated heavily and still dominated possession. Their coach Arne Slot lamented the result but praised his side’s attacking consistency.

Despite Sunday’s euphoria, Chelsea face away trips to Newcastle and Forest and a home clash with Manchester United in their final push to rejoin Europe’s elite.
