Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea were left ruing missed opportunities as they played out a frustrating 0-0 draw against a resilient Everton, handing Premier League leaders Liverpool a significant boost.

Despite dreadful conditions at Goodison Park, Chelsea created the better chances. Jordan Pickford denied Nicolas Jackson after a slick move, and the striker later headed against the post.
Everton, however, threatened through Orel Mangala’s long-range effort and came close late on when Iliman Ndiaye’s strike was heroically blocked by Tosin Adarabioyo.
Maresca lamented his side’s lack of clinical finishing, saying, “In games like this, you need to take your chances. Defensively, Everton are among the best, and that makes it tough.”
The draw leaves Chelsea trailing in the title race as Liverpool capitalized by thrashing Spurs 6-3 later in the day to extend their lead at the top to four points.
