David Moyes has been appointed as Everton’s manager for the second time, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal after the dismissal of Sean Dyche.

The 61-year-old Scottish coach returns to Goodison Park, where he previously enjoyed 11 successful years from 2002 to 2013.

Moyes takes over an Everton side currently 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

“I didn’t hesitate to return to this great club,” Moyes said. “We need the support of Goodison and all Evertonians to help us stay in the Premier League as we prepare for the transition to our new stadium.”

Moyes, who has managed Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland, and West Ham, was last in charge at West Ham until the end of the 2022-23 season, leading them to a Europa Conference League victory.
