Monaco extended their unbeaten home run to 10 matches with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a clever finish over Philipp Kohn, before Jordan Teze hit back almost instantly with a stunning long-range strike for Monaco.

Haaland doubled his tally just before halftime, heading in a cross from Nico O’Reilly to put City back in front.

Monaco came out stronger after the break, with Maghnes Akliouche testing Gianluigi Donnarumma and Tijjani Reijnders striking the crossbar. City, meanwhile, looked to control possession but failed to kill off the game.

In the closing minutes, Eric Dier was caught in the face by Nico Gonzalez in the box. After a VAR review, Dier stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to snatch a point for the hosts.

It was Monaco’s first point of the group stage, while City are now without a win in five straight Champions League away games.
