Novak Djokovic celebrated a rare milestone on Saturday, joining tennis royalty with his 100th Wimbledon match victory after dismissing compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 to reach the fourth round.
The seven-time champion became only the third player in history, after Martina Navratilova and Roger Federer, to notch a century of wins on the All England Club grass.
Despite a brief wobble as Kecmanovic threatened a late fightback, Djokovic closed out the match and will next face Australia’s Alex de Minaur.
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner made short work of an injured Pedro Martinez, powering into the last 16 with a brutal 6-1, 6-3, 6-1 victory.
The world number one, who has yet to drop a set this fortnight, has conceded only 17 games in three matches a Wimbledon professional-era record he now shares with Jan Kodes.
Martinez, hampered by a shoulder problem and twice requiring on-court treatment, battled valiantly but was ultimately overwhelmed by Sinner’s relentless aggression and 11 aces.
The Italian top seed moves on to face Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov as he pursues a historic first Wimbledon title for his country.
Djokovic and Sinner remain on a collision course, each staking an early claim for the crown with commanding performances in the tournament’s opening week.
