Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has dismissed widespread speculation about her age, making it clear that she is neither turning 50 nor close to 48.
The actress addressed the rumours after receiving a direct message from a cinematographer identified as Virtue, who offered to cover her “50th birthday” celebration for free next year. In the message shared online, Virtue introduced himself and expressed interest in handling the video coverage for what he assumed would be Adunni Ade’s milestone birthday.
Reacting with humour and mild frustration, Adunni Ade took to social media to laugh off the assumption, while calling out Nigerians for what she described as an unhealthy obsession with her age. She firmly stated that she is not 48, 49, or anywhere near 50.
“For the very last time, I am not 48 or 49,” the actress wrote, jokingly warning people not to add years to her age and insisting she still has time before reaching such milestones.
Despite correcting the misconception, Adunni Ade noted that the cinematographer meant well. She encouraged him to focus on improving his craft by posting more of his work, adding that she might consider working with him in the future — possibly at her next party.
The actress’s lighthearted response has since sparked conversations online, with fans applauding her confidence and playful approach to shutting down age-related rumours.
