Tensions arose on a flight headed to Abuja when a male passenger was reportedly caught stealing from another traveler’s bag, resulting in a 20-minute delay before departure. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the man accessed an overhead compartment and took a bag from a foreign passenger. The victim, a white man, raised an alarm upon realizing that his bag, which contained ₦290,000 in cash, was missing.
A female passenger, who witnessed the suspect meddling with the overhead bin, quickly identified him, prompting the cabin crew to step in. This led to a chaotic scene as passengers called for a detailed search. Airport security was summoned, and upon searching the suspect, the missing cash was allegedly recovered.
The incident, which has since gone viral online, captured the shocked and angry reactions of passengers regarding the attempted theft. The suspect was later handed over to airport security for further investigation.
