Nigeria’s D’Tigers will face Cameroon in a decisive Group B contest at the 2025 AfroBasket on Sunday in Luanda by 5:30pm WAT, with both sides unbeaten and eyeing an automatic place in the quarterfinals.
Nigeria top the group on points difference after two commanding wins. They brushed aside Madagascar 77–59 in their opener before overpowering holders Tunisia 87–66.
Josh Okogie lit up that victory with 33 points, while Caleb Agada’s control in the first game showed the team’s depth.
With a strong bench and tactical sharpness, D’Tigers look primed to challenge for a crown they last claimed in 2015.
Cameroon, meanwhile, began in stunning fashion, ending Tunisia’s decade-long AfroBasket streak with an 86–65 triumph.
Williams Narace starred with 20 points, while NBA trio Yves Missi, Ulrich Chomche, and Christian Koloko added steel.
Yet their second game exposed cracks, as they needed a late surge from Jeremiah Hill to edge Madagascar 80–77.
Sunday’s clash promises more than group-stage points. For Nigeria, it is a chance to reaffirm their status as Africa’s leading force.
For Cameroon, it is the stage to prove they are no longer dark horses but true contenders.
