Nigeria’s D’Tigress have reached the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket after edging Mozambique 60–55 in a hard-fought Group D clash in Abidjan.
Trailing 28–24 at halftime, the reigning champions responded with a decisive 12–0 run in the third quarter and closed the game strongly to record their second straight win and extend their unbeaten streak to 26 matches.
Murjanatu Musa led Nigeria with 19 points, while Mozambique’s Leia Dongue scored 11.
Both teams struggled from three-point range but D’Tigress showed greater composure in the closing stages.
The win sees Nigeria top Group D and move directly into the last eight as they chase a sixth straight continental crown.
