D’Tigress Draw France and Germany in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have been drawn alongside hosts France, Germany, Korea, Colombia, and the Philippines in the Lyon-Villeurbanne group for the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, set for March 11–17, 2026.

The draw, held in Switzerland on Tuesday, confirmed the 24 teams competing across four host cities, Wuhan, Lyon-Villeurbanne, San Juan, and Istanbul with 16 advancing to the World Cup in Berlin.

D’Tigress, who earned their spot after winning the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket, will face a tough path against France and Germany as they aim to return to the global stage for the third time, following appearances in 2006 and 2018.
