The Edo State House of Assembly has confirmed eight commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
The confirmation followed the report of the House Committee on Rules, Business, and Government House, which was adopted during plenary on Wednesday.
Speaker Blessing Agbebaku described the nominees as qualified indigenes of the state and urged them to work closely with the governor to drive development. However, he expressed concern over gender imbalance, noting that only one of the nominees is a woman.
The nominees cleared are: Nosa Adams, Yakubu Oshiorenua, Felix Akhabue, Prof. Omorodion Ignatius, Ohimai Ehijimetor, Eugenia Abdallah, Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi, and Prince Kassim Afegbua.
