Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his efforts to bring about a positive transformation for the nation. He called on citizens to refrain from negative remarks about the country, emphasizing that Nigeria is on a promising path toward economic recovery and growth.
According to Governor Oyebanji, President Tinubu is genuinely committed to the welfare of Nigerians, and his ongoing reforms are starting to show beneficial results. Speaking during the 2025 Inter-faith Thanksgiving Service at the Obafemi Awolowo Civic and Convention Centre in Ado Ekiti, the governor expressed gratitude for the courageous leadership that President Tinubu provides, noting his readiness to make decisions that benefit the populace.
In his address, Oyebanji reaffirmed his dedication to advancing the development and prosperity of Ekiti State. He acknowledged the praise from religious leaders regarding Tinubu’s management of state affairs, stating that he feels a strong obligation to meet the expectations of the people. He highlighted his extensive experience in governance as preparation for his role as a leader.
The governor expressed appreciation for the support the All-Progressives Congress (APC) has received from the state’s residents, which he credited for his election as their chief servant. He noted that recent increases in state allocations, leading to higher salaries for civil servants and additional welfare initiatives for non-government workers, were a result of President Tinubu’s decision to boost funding for states following the removal of fuel subsidies.
Oyebanji thanked Tinubu for the support extended to him and the people of Ekiti, asserting that their achievements are largely due to the favor they have found with the President. He pointed out that Tinubu’s policy changes are beginning to gain recognition, mentioning the recent Man of the Year Award given to the President by THISDAY Newspaper for his decisive actions in the public’s interest.
He also encouraged affluent Ekiti indigenes, both locally and abroad, to follow the example of notable figures like Aare Afe Babalola and Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) in supporting the state government by leveraging their resources and influence.
